These sound good, but they're not my favorite. They're not bad, but I've had so many different kinds of cookies now, that these just aren't the best. I was happy that I had all of the ingredients on hand.

See last week's cookies. They're so much better!

week 14: Butter Crunch Cookies

I was looking for a cookie that used cornflakes because I had a whole box left over from Christmas. I use them in my hash brown casserole, and I always end up with a huge box that just goes stale before I ever need them again.

I halved this recipe, which made plenty of cookies. My husband wishes that I made the full recipe, because I shared them with my parents and our neighbors, and didn't leave enough for us. What I did save for him were gone in a day. The name gives the best description of these cookies. Buttery and crunchy!

I used my new favorite tool to scoop out the cookies.

In preparation for tonight's BCS National Championship game, I made Championship Cookies.

Week 12: Minty Meringue Drops and Birthday Cookies

DSC01333

I made these once before with plain chocolate chips and really enjoyed them. When I found these mint and dark chocolate chips on Christmas clearance at Target, I had to try them again.

They're very good, but you must really like mint to like these. Otherwise, just use regular chocolate chips.

I remember having a substitute teacher in the 1st grade bring something like this to our class. I really liked her. :)

We just celebrated my son's 1st birthday. I found cookie cutters in the shape of party hats, cup cakes, 3 layer cakes, and presents. Our compadres, my husband, and I had a good time decorating them. They are all displayed on the beautiful dish they gave me for Christmas that came from Acambay, Mexico.

week 11: Gingerbread House

DSC01281

I used packaged gingerbread cookie mix and this cookie cutter kit.

My mom and I decorated it the day before Christmas. It's not the prettiest ginger bread house, but it was fun to make with my mom.

We used the following to decorate it:
red and white icing
coconut
red and green m&ms
dots candy
candy cake decorations
mini chocolate chips
sprinkles
candy canes
